The only thing to keep my cup from running over at the moment is breaking out into occasional fits of calm knitting and crocheting. I finished this beanie for my older niece (the camera decided to give these photos a yellow tinge). I want to make myself a similar one in the same sailor colours!
please note the extra girl power on top
It's full of delightful Zakka projects. Did you know that Zakka is a Japanese word for "lovely things to surround yourself with"? Why don't we have a word for that? I love all the projects in this book. There is also the great Zakka blog Zakka Life with lots of cute tutorials.
ps: apologies to my husband for reversing the car into a pole. again.

Ahh, Tina, your blog is my zakka! That beanie is gorgeous. The book looks great too.
Oooh zakka is wonderful! Pretty much everything that comes out of Japan is wonderful though - so cute and lovely :) Your beanie looks lovely too!
The beanie looks fabulous Tina. Three cheers I say. x
The beanie is lovely, your niece will adore it!
zakka! fabulous, I never really new what it meant before. Well, i am definitely up for that. What a lovely blog you have!
How funny, I've used the word but never really known for sure what it meant. Zakka! Love it! Loving the beanie too.
Great beanie and great book. Hope the car is okay(ish).
i find cars meet poles far too easily (or curbs). I have been thinking about purchasing that book for a while (i like the authors blog) are there any projects in the book that are at the top of your list?
Perfect little beanie. Love those flowers on top.
P.S. Just been to Lincraft and they have loads of lovely yarn on sale.
